Stories-Voices of Transformation

At Velvaere Wellness Center, every story shared is a testament to the healing power of creative expression. Through heartfelt testimonials and inspiring videos, our participants, partners, and community members reflect on their journeys of confidence, renewal, and purpose. These authentic voices reveal how our programs in dance, music, writing, fine arts, and culinary arts spark emotional healing, ignite passion, and empower individuals to rediscover balance and joy. Together, they embody the spirit of velvære—a deep, holistic sense of well-being that flourishes when creativity and compassion unite.

Cooking Class with Craig Hall

The recent cooking class was a memorable experience led by Craig Hall, who shared his grandparents’ cherished recipe for lefse, a traditional Norwegian flatbread. Lefse comes from Norway and is known for its soft, delicate texture. Historically, it was made from flour alone, creating a cracker-like bread that could last longer during the long winters. The more familiar version made with potatoes, flour, butter, and cream developed later, once potatoes became abundant in Norway.
